Slow Cooker Beef Manhattan

A delicious and easy recipe for Slow Cooker Beef Manhattan that pairs tender beef with savory turkey bacon.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crisp, then crumble and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, brown the beef roast on all sides.
  3. Place the beef in the slow cooker. Add the chopped onion, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and salt.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until the beef is tender.
  5. Remove the beef, shred it, and return it to the slow cooker.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and cold water; stir into the slow cooker. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Serve the beef mixture over mashed potatoes and top with crumbled turkey bacon.
