Cinnamon Sugar Sourdough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar together.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Cover and let rise for 12-18 hours until bubbly.
  5. Shape the dough and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 450°F for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar immediately after baking.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
